JAKARTA - Promoter Gudlive has canceled the Gudfest 2023, which was supposed to be held on March 19.

In an official announcement via social media, Gudlive stated that this cancellation was related to a growing issue regarding the Gudfest 2022 refund process which had not been completed.

To avoid unwanted things, the organizers decided to cancel the event which was originally going to feature Sum 41 and a number of local artists such as NTRL, Summerlane, Rocket Rockers, Closehead, Stereo Wall, and Anarcute.

"Notification. It is with a heavy heart that we deliver this news, looking at several aspects with the consequences and deep consideration. We declare the termination of GUDFEST 2023, Our deepest apologies for everything that happened," wrote Gudlive in a statement on social media.

In that statement, the organizers also suspected that there was a threat of mass mobilization to the Gudfest 2023 event which was feared would cause chaos and disrupt the course of the event.

"As promoters, we don't mean to make any of this a joke but we are just trying to prevent the attempts of parties who allegedly want to take excessive action on our shows," said Gudlive.

Previously it was reported, three months after the cancellation of the Gudfest 2022 event, the refund process was not going well.

Gudfest 2022 was scheduled to be held on November 18-20 at the Gelora Bung Karno Area. However, five days before D-day, Gudlive stated that the event was postponed until March 2023.

"Gudfest 2022 has officially been postponed to March next year," read Gudlive's official statement on their Instagram account on November 14. However, they did not specify the reason for the postponement of Gudfest 2022 and only said that there were technical reasons that had not been met.

The disappointment of ticket buyers was unstoppable, flooding the Gudfest Instagram comment column. They asked the organizers to return the money that had been spent, according to the ticket price.

The refund process for Gudfest 2022 has not yet been completed, Gudlive has uploaded a flyer for the second wave of events scheduled for March 2023 with a different line-up. Sum 41 as headliner, supported by NTRL and Summerlane as well as Rocket Rockers, Stereo Wall, and many others.
