JAKARTA - BYD recorded impressive sales achievements in the Southeast Asian market during 2023. In Thailand, the manufacturer, which stands for 'Build Your Dreams', managed to become the leader of electric car (EV) sales. The market expansion was continued by entering Malaysia.

The basic variant, RWD Standard Range, is equipped with a 150 kW electric motor and 310 Nm torque, capable of reaching 0-100 km/hour in 7.5 seconds, with a distance of 550 km thanks to a 61.4 kWh battery.

RWD Long Range has an electric motor of 230 kW and a torque of 360 Nm, acceleration of 0-100 km/hour in 5.9 seconds, and a distance of 700 km thanks to an 82.56 kWh battery.

The highest type, AWD Four-wheel drive, has a dual electric motor with a total power of 390 kW and a torque of 670 Nm. It can reach 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, with a distance of 650 km using the same battery as the RWD Long Range variant.

BYD Seal in Malaysia is valued at 180,000 ringgit or around Rp. 603 million. It is estimated that this car will also launch in Indonesia soon after being seen several times on the streets of Jakarta for testing.
