The Constitutional Court Believes That The Settlement Of The Case Of Dispute In The 2024 Presidential Election Is On Time

JAKARTA - The Constitutional Court (MK) is optimistic that it will complete the request for Dispute on the Results of the Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections (PHPilpres) on time or for 14 working days.

"Of course the Constitutional Court is optimistic and as much as possible will handle this presidential election case as well as possible," said Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Suhartoyo, quoted from the official website of the Constitutional Court in Jakarta, Friday, March 22, quoted by Antara.

It is known, on Thursday, March 21, the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number one Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar (AMIN) registered the PHPilpres application to the Constitutional Court represented by their legal team. AMIN's application was registered with the Applicable Application Deed (AP3) Number 01-01/AP3-PRES/Pan.MK/03/2024.

With the petition, Suhartoyo explained, two days will be used to submit applications by the applicant.

"Then, the next day it will be used in the morning and evening to hear the information and answers of the KPU, Bawaslu, and related parties," he explained.

After that, he continued, there will be time to prove for four days for each report number.

"Later, the Electronic Constitutional Case Registration Book (e-BRPK) will be registered for a two-day summons. It has spent 10 days and the rest will be for the Hakim Consultative Meeting (RPH) and the verdict," he said.

Not only the PHPilres application, but the Constitutional Court has also received the first Application for Dispute on the Results of the General Election of Members of the House of Representatives and Members of the 2024 Regional House of Representatives (PHPileg) on Thursday (21/3) at 22:27 WIB.

Nurmiati La Abusaleh, who is from the National Mandate Party (PAN), filed a lawsuit against the election results of the Maluku legislative member for the Central Maluku electoral district 3. The application was recorded in AP3 with Number 01-02-12-31/AP3-DPR-DPRD/Pan.MK/03/2024.

However, unlike the PHPilpres, the PHPileg completion period is no longer than 30 days after the application is recorded in the e-BRPK.
