TANGERANG - Police have arrested 4 suspected perpetrators of trafficking in persons (TPPO) through the Michat application. Two of the 4 people who were arrested have been named suspects, DL (33) and RA (29). While the other 2 people are underage women, namely UYN (17) and AF (17).

Tangerang City Metro Police Chief, Kombes Zain Dwi Nugroho said, DL and RA were husband and wife (couple) who were arrested on Jalan Beringin, Karawaci, Tangerang City, on Saturday, March 16, at 23.00 WIB.

Disclosure began with public reports about the alleged practice of online prostitution in a boarding house.

"Officers immediately secured the four people to the Karawaci Police office along with evidence of 4 cellphones as a means of communication for Michat transactions, one motorbike, cash from transactions and 6 contraceptives," he said.

It is stated that DL acts as a pimp or mami, then for RA as an operator provides two women.

"Meanwhile, UYN and AF (the woman who is sold) charge IDR 500 thousand for one date," he said

For their actions, DL and RA were charged with Article 2 in conjunction with 17 of Law number 21 of 2007 and or Article 761 in conjunction with Article 88 of Law number 35 of 2014 concerning amendments to Law number 23 of 2002 concerning child protection.

"Threatened with a maximum prison sentence of 15 years and a fine of Rp600 million," he concluded
