East Java Bawaslu Receives Reports Of Five ASN And One Village Head Allegedly Violating Neutrality For The 2024 Election

The East Java Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) received six reports from five regions in its area. Five reports related to the neutrality of five ASN, and one village head who allegedly violated neutrality in the 2024 General Election.

"Of the six reports, five ASN and one village head were not neutral in the 2024 General Election," said East Java Bawaslu's Head of Public Relations and Information Data, Dwi Endah Prasetyowati, Tuesday, February 6.

The six reports, each one report in Pasuruan, Bojonegoro, Ngawi, Bangkalan, and two reports in Jember.

Endah explained that the six reports that came in were all related to neutrality, both ASN and village heads. "We haven't broken down yet, which one is ASN and which one is the village head in which area," he said.

According to him, the average violation committed was because the person concerned was involved in a campaign event for one of the 2024 election presidential candidates. "If this neutrality means they are involved in the campaign process. Some of them attended during the campaign," he said.

Regarding the violation of neutrality, continued Endah, the East Java Bawaslu has issued recommendations for six incoming reports. For ASN who commit violations, recommendations are given to the State Civil Apparatus Commission (KASN), while village heads are recommended to the regional head.

"We Bawaslu are only tasked with recommending, while the sanctions are those authorized by KASN and regional heads," he said.

The potential sanctions that can be imposed if they are proven to violate the form are different. Depending on the violations committed. Whether it is categorized as light, medium, or severe.

"Once again, we are not the ones authorized, because all those who have the capacity to impose sanctions are other institutions. We only recommend that there are allegations of violations there. After the recommendation is sent, they have their own mechanisms, related institutions," he concluded.
