Slank Guitarist Abdee Slank, Resigns As Independent Commissioner Of PT Telkom

JAKARTA - Slank music group guitarist Abdi Negara Nurdin or known as Abdee Slank, officially announced his resignation as an independent commissioner of PT Telkom.

Abdee made this announcement at the declaration of support for Slank and Slankers to the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number 3 Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md at Potlot Studio, Kalibata, South Jakarta, Saturday, January 20.

Abdee explained that his presence at the event was to answer questions about the existence of commissioners in their midst. "So let there be no lies between us, and to respect the existing rules, values, ethics, so as of Friday (19/1) at 17.00 WIB, I have sent a letter of resignation from Telkom Indonesia," said Abdee.

On this occasion, Abdee also emphasized that the declaration of Slank's support for the Ganjar-Mahfud pair was a response to questions regarding Slank's choice in the 2024 presidential election.

Slank supports Ganjar-Mahfud because it is considered the most in line with the ideals of the music group, namely reforms that continue to run and eradicate corruption, collusion, and nepotism.

"In our opinion, the most appropriate way to run it is Pak Ganjar and Pak Mahfud," added Abdee.

Slank and Slankers officially expressed their support for the Ganjar-Mahfud pair 25 days before the 2024 presidential election. The declaration event was also enlivened with the MSME exhibition which is part of the Slankerpeneur. In addition, the Ganjar-Mahfud pair is scheduled to meet Mother Iffet (Bimbim mother as well as manager of Slank) and family.

The open campaign event Ganjar-Mahfud entitled People's Celebration in Bandung will also begin with the appearance of Slank, along with artists such as Andre Hehanusa, Deadsquad, Kotak, Once, and others on Sunday, January 21.
