YOGYAKARTA - Erick Thohir, Minister of SOEs, shifted Budi Waseso's (Buwas) position from the President Director of Perum Bulog to become President Commissioner of PT Semen Indonesia. So what is the reason Erick Thohir changed Buwas from the President Director of Bulog?

Minister Erick Thohir said that the transfer of positions was a normal or ordinary rotation. Budi Waseso was removed when he made a working visit to Aceh in order to review the availability of rice and participate in the Scout National Conference in Banda Aceh.

Budi Waseso himself admitted that he had many removals because his tenure in Bulog had run out. The removal or replacement of positions is the authority of the Minister of SOEs. The reason Erick Thohir replaced Buwas from the President Director of Bulog was also related to the food welfare plan.

Erick Thohir said that the move to shift Budi Waseso's position from the President Director of Bulog was aimed at synergizing Bulog, the National Food Agency (Bapanas), and the Ministry of Agriculture. It is hoped that this can restore Bulog as a food price stabilizer.

"It is indeed synergizing the name Bulog with the Food Agency, and also the Ministry of Agriculture which is also expected later by the Ministry of Finance and all of them agree to Bulog again as a stabilizer," said Erick Thohir at the DPR Complex on Monday (4/12).

To realize this plan, the Chairman of the Bulog Perum Supervisory Board is held by Arif Prasetyo. Meanwhile, Bayu Krisnamurthi became the leader of Bulog.

"That's why the leader of the council chairman, Mr. Arief, is now and of course the new leader of Mr. Bayu," said Erick Thohir.

Budi Waseso himself admitted that he did not know if he was suddenly given the mandate to become the President Commissioner of PT Semen Indonesia through the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS). He also did not know about the EGMS agenda because his authority was in the hands of Minister Erick Thohir.

However, Budi Waseso said that his tenure in Bulog had expired and his replacement was under the authority of SOE Minister Erick Thohir. Buwas said his contract as President Director of Bulog was completed in April, but was extended and reappointed.

"It's normal (if it's been replaced). I've been 5 years, my contract was completed in April. But it turned out to be extended and reappointed, it's up to the Ministry of SOEs, if I'm assigned to a new place now, it's normal," said Budi Waseso after attending the Scout National Conference at the Balee Meuseuraya Aceh Building.

Budi Waseso was appointed by Erick Thohir to hold the position of President Commissioner of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG). Changes in the composition of the company's management have been approved at the EGMS.

Vita Mahreyni, Corporate Secretary of SIG, said that the meeting confirmed the honorable dismissal of Rudiantara as President Commissioner and Arief Prasetyo Adi as Commissioner.

Furthermore, the meeting also appointed Budi Waseso as Commissioner and Independent Commissioner. In addition, Ratna Irsana was appointed as Independent Commissioner. Vita Mahreyn said that currently, Perseoran continues to focus on implementing strategic initiatives to improve performance.
