JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued a weather forecast for Friday, December 1, 2023. Forecasters Rifat Darajat reminded the public of the potential for rain in big cities on the island of Java.

Shifting to the islands of Bali and Nusa Tenggara, light rain is expected in Kupang City. Meanwhile, Denpasar City has moderate rain, while Mataram City is wary of rain accompanied by lightning.

Moving to Kalimantan Island, Tanjung Selor City is predicted to be foggy. Rain accompanied by lightning has the potential to occur in Samarinda, Banjarmasin, and Pontianak. Meanwhile, Palangkaraya City is predicted to have moderate rain.

Rain is also predicted to flush major cities on the island of Sulawesi. Light rain will flush the cities of Manado, Gorontalo, Palu, and Makassar, while the city of Mamuju is predicted to have moderate rain.

'Be aware of rain accompanied by lightning in Kendari City,' said Rifat.

Finally, in eastern Indonesia, light rain is predicted to fall in the cities of Ternate and Manokwari, while the cities of Ambon and Jayapura are predicted to be cloudy.
