JAKARTA - Vice President Ma’ruf Amin invited the Malaysian side to increase investment in Indonesia, by participating in the development of the capital city of Nusantara (IKN). This was conveyed by Ma'ruf in a meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Malaysia can increase investment in three sectors, namely renewable energy, transportation, and construction. "Investasi Malaysia di Indonesia nomor 5, supaya ada peningkatan, terutama juga yang di IKN dari Serawak ini, energi terbarukan, transportasi, dan konstruksi,” kata Ma’ruf dilansir dari Antara, Selasa, 28 November. The Indonesian government targets the development of IKN, which is planned until 2045, to be funded by 80 percent of investment, and 20 percent of the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN). During the meeting, Ma’ruf also discussed the protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI), especially those working in the palm oil and household industries. “ In addition, it also concerns PMI Indonesian migrant workers. I received a report from the Ambassador, who works in oil palm fine. And there are still those who work in the household. We also hope that there will be improvement protection and that too will get a good response," said Ma'ruf. Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia Hermono said PM Anwar also promised to solve problems related to Indonesia and Malaysia boundaries. "The issue of PMI's boundaries and protection is PM Anwar's priority," said Ambassador Hermono.

During the meeting, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin was accompanied by a number of officials, including the Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia Hermono, the Head of the Vice Presidential Secretariat Ahmad Erani Yustika, Spokesperson for the Secretariat of Vice President Masduki Baidlowi, and the Special Staff of the Vice President for Politics and Inter-Institutional Relations Robikin Emhas.
