Public Prosecutor Demands Former PPK Of The Madina Public Works Service Defendant Of Corruption 7 Years In Prison

The Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Mandailing Natal District Attorney (Madina) charged the defendant Nazaruddin Sitorus, a former commitment-making official (PPK) in the Spatial Planning and Parks Division of the Madina District Public Works Service (PU) for seven years in prison.

Raskita stated that the three defendants were required to pay compensation for state losses of Rp. 797 million, provided that if one month had permanent legal force, the defendant's property would be confiscated for the state.

"If it is not sufficient, then the three defendants will replace it with imprisonment of three years and six months," said Raskita.

The prosecutor assessed that the three defendants violated as the primary indictment in Article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 has been amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 concerning the eradication of corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.

"The aggravating thing is that the defendant's actions do not support the government's program in eradicating corruption, and what relieves the defendant is being polite," he said.

After the prosecutor read out the charges, the panel of judges at the Medan District Court chaired by Yusafrihardi Girsang stated that the trial of the case would be continued next week with the agenda of a memorandum of defense from the defendant (pleidoi).
