MAGELANG - The Governor of Central Java was impressed with the seriousness of Ma'arif Kota Mungkid Vocational School (SMK), in producing products ready for sale. This was disclosed by Ganjar Pranowo after seeing the two products in the form of coffee roaster machines and machine parts made by students produced at the school.

In fact, this school in Magelang Regency has also established partners with the industry as product off-takers.

"The building is beautiful, so the Ma'arif Vocational School is quite serious. I even saw two good works. One, working with the industry to make roaster machines so that the children's work becomes concrete and can be seen and sold. There is an off-taker. Second, above earlier there was a part from the industry and even had excess orders to cooperate with other SMKs," said Ganjar Pranowo after launching the NU roaster machine and inaugurating the Ma'arif Kota Mungkid Vocational High School Center of Excellence Building, Magelang, Tuesday 21 February.

Achievement of the Nation's Children

The practice carried out by Ma'arif Vocational School is in line with Ganjar's hopes that he will continue to encourage vocational schools to partner with industry or companies. According to Ganjar, this practice can provide sufficient experience for students when they graduate.

"Vocational High School students have a quite good experience. Not only science but lots of practice. At the peak later will be the teaching factory. That way their skills will be easy to apply and understand what quality they are," he said.

On that occasion, Ganjar Pranowo also shared that recently he had guests from representatives of a number of well-known companies that had partnered with vocational high schools. In fact, he wants to replicate the pattern to be reproduced in other schools.

"This must be developed, but there must be a partner. Thank God, at Ma'arif Vocational School, there are several partner companies already, so that later they will know, complement each other, and make improvements. What are the needs of the industry, then how does the school prepare the students are good," said Ganjar.

Discipline and learning methodology are also a concern of Ganjar. What is the attitude that must be given by the teacher and or students in the teaching and learning process. Moreover, the children already have an attitude for the future, because many of them already have aspirations after graduating from Ma'arif Vocational School.

"In my opinion, it is also important because if we asked them earlier they already had aspirations of where to work, so they really prepared themselves with their skills to be able to achieve their goals," said Ganjar.

One more thing that Ganjar underlined was the Ma'arif Vocational School which is under the auspices of Ma'arif LP or the Nahdlatul Ulama educational institution. This background makes students not only learn about knowledge and skills. It is also important to learn character and emotions in establishing communication.

"So the intellectuals are honed here with good knowledge and skills. Both are emotional, how to build networks, and communicate with parents. This belongs to NU, so when it comes to spirituality I think it will also be good. Students will get this completeness," he said.

Apart from these two products, Ma'arif Vocational School, Mungkid City, also produces various types of coffee. He even had time to taste Menoreh Coffee brewed by students. Ganjar Pranowo seemed to really enjoy the coffee.
