Ahok Withdraws From Pertamina's Komut, Ganjar: That's The Best Choice, After That I Immediately Invited A Grand Campaign

Presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo is grateful for the support of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok after resigning as the main commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero) to focus on supporting himself and vice presidential candidate Mahfud MD.

Ganjar also admitted that he directly contacted Ahok via the WhatsApp messaging application after receiving news of the resignation of the former governor of DKI Jakarta from Pertamina.

"I thank you. I immediately WA dia, Hok, have you resigned? Already, already, now; that's what he said," said Ganjar in the Setiabudi area, Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Saturday, February 3.

Ganjar then invited Ahok to attend the grand Ganjar-Mahfud campaign at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK), Senayan, Jakarta, Saturday.

"Okay, tomorrow come to GBK, I see. You are ready, yes, campaign take me? Already. This is our opportunity, Njar. Maybe we can contribute to the nation and state with our age this is the last chance. He said that," explained Ganjar imitating his conversation with Ahok.

Meanwhile, the former governor of Central Java said Ahok's resignation from Pertamina was a good choice.

"This is a matter of integrity, a matter of ethics, so that there is no conflict of interest or perhaps abuse of authority. So, this choice is a good choice. We really respect these friends. They have ethics, they don't want conflict, and they choose the path is not easy," said Ganjar.

Previously, through uploads on his social media account, Friday, February 2, Ahok delivered a statement of his resignation as the main commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero). In the upload, Ahok showed a letter with the PT Pertamina logo.

"This upload is proof of the receipt of my resignation letter as the main commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero), which I submitted today, February 2, 2024," Ahok wrote in the upload.

Ahok said his resignation was related to his political support for candidate pair number 3 Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD.

"This is so that there is no more confusion regarding my political direction," said Ahok.

The General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia has determined three participants in the 2024 presidential election, namely the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar pair number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD number 3.

The 2024 election campaign period will take place from 28 November 2023 to 10 February 2024. After the campaign period, there will be a calm period on 11-13 February 2024. Then, the voting schedule will take place simultaneously on 14 February 2024.
