PPKM Level 3 Looser, Eat At 30 Minutes To The Wedding Reception Can Invite 20 People

JAKARTA - The Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian issued an Instruction from the Minister of Home Affairs to extend the Implementation of Level 4 and Level 3 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) inside and outside Java-Bali.

The Ministry of Home Affairs related to the extension of PPKM Level 4 and 3 was issued under Number 24 of 2021 concerning the Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities Level 4 and Level 3 Corona Virus Disease 2019 in the Java and Bali Regions. This rule takes effect from today until August 2 next.

From the copy of the instruction, it appears that the rules in the Level 3 PPKM area are more lax than the Level 4 PPKM. For example, the implementation of eating and drinking activities in the Level 3 PPKM area is limited to 30 minutes per person and the maximum number of visitors is 25 percent of the capacity of the place.

This is certainly different from the PPKM Level 4 rules where visitors are limited to only three people and meal times are only given for 20 minutes.

"The implementation of eating/drinking activities in public places: food stalls/warteg, street vendors, street stalls, and the like are allowed to open with strict health protocols until 20.00 local time with a maximum of 25 percent of visitors eating capacity and a maximum meal time of 30 minutes," as quoted from a copy of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 24 of 2024 on Monday, July 26.

Another difference is found in activities in shopping centers, malls, or trade centers. In the PPKM Level 3 area, operations are allowed until 17.00 local time with a visitor capacity of 25 percent.

While the rules for the PPKM Level 4 area, activities in shopping centers, malls, and trade centers are temporarily closed. Entry access is only for store employees who serve online sales with a capacity of three people.

Next, places of worship in regencies and cities that are implemented by PPKM Level 3 can carry out religious worship activities with a maximum capacity of 25 percent or 20 people.

In addition, wedding receptions can also be held with a maximum of 20 invitations for areas where PPKM Level 3.

While in the PPKM Level 4 area, worship activities at places of worship or wedding receptions are not allowed.

Previously, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Panjaitan who is also in charge of PPKM Level 4 in Java and Bali, stated that the PPKM extension was based on several things. The first is the indicator of case transmission, the second is the response of the health system based on the guidelines from WHO.

While the third indicator is the socio-economic condition of the community. All of these indicators serve as a barometer for the government in determining the continuation of PPKM.
