Nights Come To Collect Loan Installments, Angry Collectors To The Horns Of Teenagers In Sleman

SLEMAN - The issue of collecting loan installments for money resulted in acts of violence. Collectors from a finance company in Sleman, DIY came to the borrower's house and made a fuss.

This unfortunate incident was experienced by the Tea family in Tegal Mraen, Mlati, Sleman. Tea's 17-year-old child becomes the target of the ire of these loan collectors.

This commotion broke out at Tea's house on the evening of May 31. At that time several people came to Tea's house. They intend to withdraw the car that is guaranteed. Indeed, in the agreement, the Motor Vehicle Owner's Book is held by the financing company as collateral.

Tea said his son borrowed money from a finance company for a total of IDR 41.7 million. In the agreement clause, according to Tea, the borrower is required to pay installments 12 times amounting to IDR 4,235,000.

Indeed, Tea admitted that her son was late in paying the installments that must be paid on the 23rd of each month. But Tea alluded to the clause in the financing agreement letter regarding the existence of warning letters up to three times within a 7-day deadline from the installment payment due date.

"We were one week late in paying, but were immediately approached and yelled at even though we didn't receive a warning letter", Tea told reporters, Friday, July 23.

Tea said there were more than 4 people who came to her house on Thursday, May 31 that night. One of the people who claimed to be a supervisor from a finance company intended to withdraw the car that was used as collateral.

The family refuses. The installment collector finally asked that the motorbike at Tea's house be brought as collateral.

It was the intention to bring this family's motorbike that was the trigger for the commotion. The collectors shouted until they were finally asked to leave the house by Tea's children.

"I was yelled at, my son didn't accept it, in the end, the men were told to leave", continued Tea.

But at that time for some reason, one of the collectors butted Tea's child in the face until he hit the wall. There were cuts on the lips and bruises on Tea's child's head.

“The lump (head) and the lips were cracked. It has been Visum", she emphasized.

But the commotion continues as the collectors scream around the Tea house. This collector called the borrower's family irresponsible and accused the car of embezzlement.

Disapproved of the collector's behavior, the family decided to report the case to the Sleman Police. There were two reports submitted to the police, namely acts of abuse and defamation. The report from the Tea family was received by the Sleman Police on June 5.

This case report was confirmed by Tea after his son paid the loan installments.

“Is it really like this to treat consumers with violence? Meanwhile, what they did was outside the agreement that had been agreed upon”, said a member of the Tea family.
