Immigration Arrests Chinese And Malaysian Foreigners At The Sukabumi Mine

SUKABUMI - Officers from the Immigration Office Class II Non-Immigration Checkpoint (TPI) Sukabumi arrested five foreign nationals (WNA) who roamed the mining area, in Cihaur Village, Sukabumi Regency, West Java.

"Four of the five foreigners are from China, and one is from Malaysia", said the Head of Intelligence for Enforcement and Immigration of the Class II Non-TPI Immigration Office Sukabumi Taufan, in Sukabumi, quoted by Antara, Thursday, July 15.

According to the information gathered, the four foreigners from China were found walking around the mining area in Cihaur Village, Simpenan District. However, when officers from the Sukabumi Immigration Office wanted to arrest him, they immediately ran away.

But with the alertness of the Immigration Office officers who were assisted by Sukabumi Police personnel, an independent operation in the Simpenan area managed to arrest the four Chinese foreigners and take them to one of the houses inhabited by them.

Apparently, in the house, there was another foreign national of Malaysia who was immediately questioned about their whereabouts at the mine site. To develop this case, the officers brought the five foreigners to the Sukabumi Class II Non-TPI Immigration Office on the South Ring Line, Sukabumi City for further questioning.

According to Taufan, this arrest was initiated by reports from the public who suspected that foreigners were active in the mining area and could not speak Indonesian clearly. After the development was carried out their existence was found.

"Our suspicions grew, when these foreigners immediately ran to be approached by officers, we suspected that the five had violated their residence permits or did not comply with their residence permits. In the development of this case, we brought the five to the office for questioning", he continued.

Taufan said that the temporary suspicion was that the foreigner had violated the Indonesian immigration law. But to prove it, it is still conducting an examination. However, the five of them certainly did not carry out mining activities.
