For Those Who Want To Go To Sabang, They Are Required To Have A COVID-19 Vaccine Certificate

BANDA ACEH - The Sabang City Government requires people who will depart from Banda Aceh to Sabang or vice versa, to have a COVID-19 vaccination certificate or a negative antigen swab test result before buying a ferry ticket.

The Mayor of Sabang, Nazaruddin, said the policy was contained in a circular letter number 440/4709 regarding the requirements for travelers to and from Sabang City on Tuesday, July 14, which was signed directly by him.

"There are several points in the circular that must be obeyed by Sabang residents and immigrants," said Nazaruddin in Sabang City, quoted by Antara, Thursday, July 15.

In the circular, Nazaruddin explained, travelers to and from Sabang City are required to show a first or second stage vaccine certificate. However, if you have not been vaccinated, you must show a negative antigen swab certificate, within 2 × 24 hours.

Then, for travelers who do not meet the requirements to be vaccinated for medical reasons, they can show a doctor's certificate instead of a vaccine certificate. Furthermore, his party will also apply a random antigen swab test to travelers.

According to Nazaruddin, the new policy of the Sabang City Government is in response to the development of level 4 Micro-Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) which is currently in effect in the Banda Aceh area, the area that is the entrance to Sabang.

"And all these requirements have been in effect starting July 14, 2021, and will end if the government revokes micro PPKM level 4 in Banda Aceh City", he said.

Before issuing the policy, he also held a coordination meeting with the Sabang City COVID-19 Handling Task Force and the Sabang Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) to control new cases and the spread of the Coronavirus on Pulau Weh.

"Hopefully, with the enactment of this rule, it can prevent the spread of COVID-19", he said.

"I invite all of us to take vaccinations and don't be easily swayed by rumors or hoax news about the COVID-19 vaccine, because this is for the common good and our efforts to end this pandemic as quickly as possible", he said.
