The Mastermind Of The Extortion Of The KPK Detention Center Undergoes Trial By The KPK Council Today

JAKARTA - The Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has begun hearing three employees who were involved in alleged illegal levies at the detention center (rutan) today, Wednesday, March 13.

Chairman of the KPK Council, Tumpak Hatorangan, said that this trial would be held behind closed doors. They will seek statements from witnesses who are suspected of knowing the alleged extortion.

"I don't know who will go first. Anyway, today is two people (at the ethics trial, ed). Tomorrow one person," Tumpak told reporters at the ACLC KPK Building, Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, Wednesday, March 13.

There were many witnesses who were asked to attend. However, Tumpak did not specify who they were.

Meanwhile, KPK Supervisory Board member Albertina Ho said two people who would be tried for ethics were the former Acting Head of the Detention Center, namely Ristanta.

"Former Plt Kamtib and former Plt Karutan," he said when confirmed.

The ethics trial was held since 09.00 WIB. Later, the verdict reading trial will be conducted openly.

As previously reported, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Council has decided that 78 employees have been proven to have violated ethics for being involved in alleged illegal levies. They were sentenced to express their open apologies and have been implemented on Monday, February 26.

While the other 12 were handed over to the Secretary General of the KPK. The reason is that their actions occurred before the KPK Council was formed.

Recently, the anti-corruption commission has also investigated this case through the deputy for prosecution and execution. In total, there are more than 10 people named as suspects.

One of them is Hengki, who is a civil servant employed (PNYD) from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham). The figure who currently works at the Secretariat of the DKI Jakarta DPRD is referred to as the mastermind or mastermind of the extortion practice that occurs.
