Member of Commission III of the House of Representatives Andi Rio Idris Padjalangi asked the National Police to act quickly to investigate allegations of indications of a flow of political funds sourced from drug network dealers for the 2024 election contestation.

"The police must thoroughly investigate this matter down to its roots and there should be no selective slashing in resolving the problem, the Police must be transparent and accountable," Andi Rio said in his statement, Tuesday, May 30, which was confiscated by Antara.

He encouraged the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police to immediately cooperate with the Financial Transaction Analysis Report Center (PPATK) in investigating the findings of the flow of funds indicated by the results of drug trafficking.

"The National Police must see where the source of the funds came from and where they were aimed at, whether the international or domestic drug network. PPATK results must also be opened so that there is no commotion in the community," he said.

The Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives' Honorary Court (MKD) also hopes that the organizers and stakeholders of the 2024 General Election will sit down together in discussing the issue of political funds that are suspected to come from drug networks.

"Don't let the democratic party be damaged and regulated by drug dealer networks. We don't want our nation's generation to be damaged by these illicit goods," he said.

According to him, this is important so that public participation in elections does not decrease and people become apathy.

"Do not let prospective council members be financed by drug networks. The impact is very dangerous if these members are elected. This cannot be tolerated and justified," he said.

Sebelumnya, Jumat 26 Mei, Kabareskrim Polri Komjen Pol.

"I ask all ranks of the Police drug investigation to start mapping and anticipating drug-related problems that can hinder the 2024 General Election," Agus said in his statement in Jakarta, Friday, May 26.

Meanwhile, on Monday, May 29, the Directorate of Drug Crimes (Dittipidnarkoba) and his staff mapped and anticipated illegal funds from illicit drug trafficking to flow in the 2024 General Election (Pemilu) contestation.

Deputy Director of Narcotics Crime Kombes Pol. Jayadi in Jakarta said that from the results of the temporary mapping, no indication was found.

"That's why I said earlier to anticipate mapping the contestation plan in 2024. (The results) are not yet there," Jayadi said.
