SEMARANG - Semarang City Government explained that the construction of the Dance Statue at Taman Kaliwiru Semarang aims to perpetuate the culture owned by the people of Atlas City, namely Gembang and Dancer Semarang.

"Meanwhile, maybe the community, netizens, don't really understand why the city government is building this?" said the Daily Executive (Plh) Head of the Semarang City Housing and Settlement Area Office Murni Ediati, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 23.

Murni said the Semarang City Government built the statue as an icon to perpetuate the culture owned by the people of Semarang City so that it can be passed on to the next generation.

"The city of Semarang has a culture that must be eaten, namely Gembang Semarang and Dancer Semarang. To perpetuate culture so that generations after we understand there is a culture, like that," he said.

The Dancer Statue was previously crowded on social media because the nine-meter-high statue is called scary, especially when it is designed to rotate so that it can change course.

Murni explained that her party accepted and responded well to input from the community so that the shortcomings would later be corrected, as if it would be addressed so as not to be scary.

"People's input must be responded to. We are also building for the community. YES, yesterday (repair, ed.) regarding faces and coloring, we are'supported'. It's just that, if the shape is not possible," he said.

Regarding the shape of the statue, he said, the artist has patented it, namely Bintang Anggoro Putro, so it cannot be changed, but for faces and coloring it can still be adjusted.

"In miniatures (focus, ed.) it doesn't show a face. I asked Mr. Bintang, the creator. His face is just anyone. Yes, we still talk about it because it's the maker. So, it's more coloring and texture only," he said.

For the movement of the statue, he confirmed that the statue could rotate because it was installed with an engine equipped with a "team sensor" so that later it would rotate automatically according to the time setting.

"Yesterday there were also those who asked, how come the statue was made (faced) there, then why come here. Yes, the statue is indeed playing. It uses a 'team censor'. Later, we will add a lightlight so it doesn't get dark," he said.

Regarding the progress, he said, actually the statue is ready to be inaugurated, and is currently still in the process of "finiishing" a little bit to adjust input from the public.
