WONOSOBO - Wonosobo Resort Police, Central Java, managed to identify two victims who died in a series of accidents on Jalan Temanggung-Wonosobo, in Candiroto Hamlet, Candimulyo Village, Wonosobo Regency.

Head of the Wonosobo Police Traffic Unit, AKP Ragil Irawan, said that two victims who died in consecutive accidents on Saturday, May 20, were the driver of the container truck Ikhwanuddin, a resident of Ciomas, Serang Regency.

Another victim who died was the Romdhoa container truck kernet, a resident of Sambongsari Village, Weleri District, Kendal Regency.

"The identity and cell phone of the victim was only found this afternoon on the sidelines of the container carcass at the same time as the crime scene (TKP)," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, May 21.

He explained that initially residents were suspicious of a cell phone ring from the container truck cabin, but no one dared to take it. After the Wonosobo Police Traffic Unit team arrived, the new cell phone was taken and a number of victims' identities were found.

Ragil said that the successive accidents involving the six motorized vehicles started with a container truck carrying liquid sugar allegedly experiencing a failed brake.

"The truck was out of control so that it hit five other vehicles, namely a potato truck, a box car, a sedan, a minibus, and a motorcycle," he said.

He said the results of the crime scene, initial conclusions and still deepening, were suspected that the truck had failed brakes.

"Two victims died of driver and truck kernet. Meanwhile, four other victims were injured and undergoing outpatient treatment," he said.

This container truck transports liquid sugar from Probolinggo, East Java to Banjarnegara.

He appealed to Temanggung-Wonosobo road users to be careful because the road conditions have derivatives from Kledung to Kretek along 10 kilometers.

"We urge you to check the vehicle, make sure it really deserves to run. If you go down, use low teeth and turn off the air conditioner. The important thing is to run slowly and safely to your destination," he said.
