Open About The Discourse Of The Great Coalition Of KIB And KIR, PDIP: The Lighter The Burden If Embraced Together

The PDI-P (PDIP) has not closed itself to the discourse of a major coalition of political parties consisting of a combination of KIB and KIR members to look to the 2024 presidential election. The discourse was voiced by five political party leaders during a meeting with President Jokowi at the PAN Jakarta DPP Headquarters, yesterday.

"PDIP from the start will indeed work together with other forces to work together, both with Golkar, PPP, and PAN, Gerindra, and PKB with the National Mandate Party (PAN). All parties," said PDIP DPP chairman Said Abdullah to reporters, Monday, April 3.

Said said this discourse had been seen since PDIP DPP chairman Puan Maharani met with other party leaders several times, such as Golkar Party Chairman Airlangga Hartarto and PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar.

Moreover, PDIP assesses that if the idea of this grand coalition does happen, the work to win the 2024 presidential election will be easier to do.

"The lighter the burden if carried together because the challenges ahead are also not getting lighter," he said.

Despite welcoming the discourse of this grand coalition, Said emphasized that PDIP is still concerned about carrying its internal cadres in the 2024 presidential election. They will not be affected by anything.

"Confirm, it will not be zero left-handed even though it will still cooperate with any force," he said.

Previously, President Jokowi met with five political party leaders at the Ramadan Gathering which was held at PAN Jakarta Headquarters on Sunday, April 2.

Present at the Ramadan Gathering were the Chairman of PAN who is also the Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan, the chairman of the Golkar Party who is also the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, the Acting Chairman of the PPP who is also the Presidential Special Envoy for Poverty and Food Security Cooperation Mardiono, the chairman of the Gerindra Party and the Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto and the Chairman of PKB Muhaimin Iskandar.

When delivering his remarks, the former Governor of DKI Jakarta supported the formation of a major coalition that was a combination of KIB and KIR. The KIB consists of Golkar, PAN, and PPP. Meanwhile, KIR is filled with Gerindra and PKB.

"I just say it is suitable (to form), it is up to the general chairman of the party or the combination of party general chairman, for the good of the state, for the good of the nation for the good of the people, things related to deliberation will be better," said President Jokowi while attending a gathering held by PAN at the PAN Jakarta DPP Office.
