Lebaran Homecoming Train Tickets Sold 75 Percent, Most Departed From Pasar Senen

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI noted that long-distance train tickets during the Lebaran 2023 homecoming period have been sold as much as 75 percent per day.

VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus said tickets that had been sold for the Lebaran homecoming period were 2,298,211 tickets or 75 percent of the total long-distance train tickets provided, namely 3,065,404 tickets.

Even so, Joni is optimistic that the number of ticket sales will approach Eid al-Fitr 2023.

The number will still increase, because sales are still ongoing. KAI hopes that people can plan their journey well because there are still quite a lot of train tickets for the Eid Transport period available," he said in a statement, Tuesday, April 18.

Joni revealed that the period before Lebaran was dominated by passengers from the West (Jakarta or Bandung) towards the East (Central Java and East Java).

"For the period after Lebaran, passengers from the East (Central Java or East Java) are dominated towards the West (Jakarta or Bandung)," he said.

Meanwhile, based on the date of departure for long-distance trains that became favorites, 98 percent were ordered on April 16, 2023; April 24, 2023, 99 percent; and April 15 and 19, 2023, 97 percent.

"If the desired ticket runs out, the customer can select an alternative date or take advantage of the Connecting Train feature in the KAI Access application which will help provide travel options by combining a connecting train schedule," he said.
