ディン・シャムスッディンは、カワプレス・アニスにふさわしいAHYまたはホフィファを理解しています
JAKARTA - Former General Chairperson of Muhammadiyah Central Executive Din Syamsuddin admitted to providing a number of inputs to PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu regarding the criteria for prospective vice presidential candidates (cawapres) who will accompany Anies Baswedan.
According to him, Anies Baswedan is perceived by the public as a Muslim figure, so it is more suitable to be combined with a nationalism figure.
"Anies Baswedan is more perceived as a Muslim figure. If possible, his deputy from the other side is not the other side, yes, the subculture. This is our togetherness," said Din as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 23.
Din revealed a series of names that have the potential to become candidates for Vice President Anies Baswedan, ranging from the Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) to the Governor of East Java Khofifah Indah Parawansa.
He considered that all these figures were included in the criteria suitable to accompany Anies.
"AHY is included in that category, from the Democratic Party. For Khofifah, from Muslim figures. So, entirely to the party that carries and to the presidential candidate," he added.
Even so, all decisions are in the hands of political parties that carry. He also suggested that the elected figures should uphold the value of pluralism because Indonesia is a pluralistic nation.
"Yes, pluralism must be done because this is a pluralistic society and nation. Therefore, I am not in a position that may propose, I can only think," said Din.

Previously, he said the clever individuals or groups of people who had extensive knowledge saw Anies Baswedan's future presidential candidate as the right person to lead Indonesia.
"I think a lot of us, the clever, intelligent, and reasonable people see Anies Baswedan as the right figure for Indonesia in the future," said Din.
For that, he said, Indonesia needs intelligent and visionary leaders to deal with global geopolitical, geoeconomic, and geostrategic changes. Not only that, the figure of a leader must be able to understand national ideals, be able to mobilize the potential of the Indonesian people, and be able to dialogue with international groups.
"So, this choice is the right choice (Anies Baswedan) and I hope it will come true," he said.
