JAKARTA - Google announced that it will bring emoji reactions to Gmail, which it says can be used to express users' feelings quickly.

"Emoji is an easy and preferred way to react in messaging applications, especially if you can't find the right word or don't have time to type in response. Now, Gmail brings excitement in your inbox," said Maria Fernandez Guajardo, Sr. Product Director, Gmail in Google blog.

With this new emoji reaction in Gmail, the search giant says that you can quickly express yourself, in just one click.

"And for certain emojis (like party poolpers), you might even see an extra look on your screen," Fernandez explained further.

So, starting this month, anyone with a personal Gmail account will see a smiling face icon appear under their message on mobile and desktop devices.

Click the face icon to select the emoji from the menu, then tap on one of the emojis to send. Or, if another recipient has responded with the perfect emoji, just click on the emoji to reply.

This emoji reaction feature may only be viewed using the latest version of the Gmail app on your mobile device (available on Android and iOS). If you use another email client, you will receive an emoji reaction as a separate email.

"With this new option in Gmail, you can be faster and more creative in responding. And look forward to the way we help you take your time and focus on the most important things," he concluded.
