JAKARTA - Sega Sammy Holdings Inc., a company in the Japanese-based gaming machine and entertainment content business, decided to cancel the launch of its new game, HYENAS.

In its official announcement on Thursday, September 28 yesterday, Sega Sammy said that the company recorded a loss for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023.

"In response to the low profitability in the European region, we have reviewed the title portfolio of each development base in Europe and the resulting action is to cancel HYENAS and some of the titles that have not been announced in development," the company wrote.

Due to this problem, Sega Sammy decided to implement structural reforms in the field of consumers, especially in the European base.

In addition to canceling the launch of the HYENAS game, Sega Sammy will apply a reduction in various fixed costs in several groups of companies in the relevant areas, which are centered at Creative Assembly Ltd.

"We expect one-time costs to arise related to fixed cost reductions. We will continue to consider measures to increase profitability in Europe's bases other than above," the company added.
