Senator Chuck Schumer Will Hold Artificial Intelligence Forum, A Number Of Big Names Will Be Present

JAKARTA - The US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer will host leaders and technology experts in the artificial intelligence forum (AI) on September 13, when several governments around the world are considering how to reduce the dangers of this growing technology.

Here are some names that have been confirmed by Schumer's office as upcoming forum participants:

Sam Altman (CEO OpenAI): CEO of OpenAI, the ChatGPT maker, said in June that he was "very optimistic" about the prospects for global coordination in the AI sector.

Mark Zuckerberg (CEO Meta Platforms Inc.): Meta has invested in artificial intelligence for years. The owner of Facebook and Instagram says that AI is now moving to the forefront of its business to increase content recommendations and advertising across company services.

Elon Musk (CEO Tesla): Tesla launched its own AI startup named xAI earlier this year. He has referred to the AI potential to lead to a "collapse of civilization." He said after his final trip to China that he thought the Asian state was interested in a cooperative international framework in AI.

Sundar Pichai (CEO Alphabet): Google's parent company launched AI products at its annual developer conference in May and updated its search engine to include a generative AI.

Satya Nadella (CEO Microsoft): Earlier this year, Microsoft announced plans to bring artificial intelligence into the hands of more users, with improvements to its widely used office software. The tech company shows a new AI "Copilot" for Microsoft 365, a series of its products that include Word documents, Expel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and Outlook emails.

Jensen Huang (CEO Nvidia): Nvidia far exceeded expectations with its quarterly earnings forecast at the end of August as the artificial intelligence boom sparked demand for its chips.

Arvind Krishna (CEO IBM): IBM launched a new artificial intelligence and data platform in May to help companies integrate AI in their business. Krishna told Bloomberg in the same month that IBM hopes to stop recruiting for certain roles as around 7,800 jobs can be replaced by AI in the coming years.

Other tech leaders and experts are expected to attend the forum including billionaire Bill Gates, Motion Picture Association CEO Charles Rivkin, former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, Center for Humane Technology co-founder Tristan Harris, University of California researcher Deborah Raji, and Palaltir Technologies CEO Alex Krp, as well as many others.
