JAKARTA - Google is rolling out a major update to the Memories feature on Google Photos by providing Generative AI technology support, which is claimed to be able to revive and share the most memorable moments for you.

"We are introducing a new view of Memories, home to your memory which is automatically curated and organized with the help of AI. It allows you to easily revive, customize, and share your most memorable travel, celebration, and daily moments," Brandon Im wrote. Senior Product Manager, Google Photos on Google blog.

With this capability, Google Photos will allow you to save your favorite memories or create them automatically from scratch to create a timeline.

This feature looks set to work like a combination of Facebook Stories and Memories, which allow you to bring together your favorite photosets from a month and a year later.

Google also says that you can choose to save favorite memories to Memories or create them yourself from scratch. The view of Memories also allows you to easily add or delete certain photos and videos.

You can change the name of Your Memories to make it recognized and reflect the meaning and feelings of that time. Or if you want inspiration, let Google Photos provide a set of specific title suggestions made with a generative AI," he added.

Currently, the AI-powered Memories feature has just been launched for Google Photos users in the United States (US), and is likely to roll out to all users in the future.

Google will also add the ability to share memories as videos, so you can send them to friends and family using favorite messages or media apps
