JAKARTA - Having more than one billion active users, TikTok is without hesitation one of the most popular social media applications around the world. If you use this video app, you may think that you are already in control of the main features.

However, many users are unaware of useful tools - 46 secret emojis. These secret emojis work in iOS and Android versions of the TikTok app, but you will need dedicated codes to use them.

Here's all you need to know about these secret characters, including what they are and how to access them.

TikTok supports native emojis on all platforms, which can be used by people in the same way as when inserting emojis from their smartphone keyboards - just like you do when using emojis on other platforms such as WhatsApp or Instagram.

However, many users don't realize that there are 46 secret emojis, which work in iOS and Android versions of this app.

In a blog about these hidden characters, Emojipedia explains: 'Not shown anywhere in the interface, the only way to insert a hidden TikTok emoji is to know the TikTok emoji code list.'

Copy any emoji shortcode and paste it into TikTok's comments or captions.

"Unlike the original system emoji that appears with designs from Apple, Google, or Microsoft (depending on the platform used), TikTok's hidden emoji list uses the same visual style on all operating systems, from all manufacturers," Emojipedia added.

This news came shortly after Emojipedia revealed 118 new emojis that were being submitted for approval this year. These new characters include lime, vertically and horizontally shaking heads, and phoenix birds.

Users can also expect four new neutral gender family emojis, represented via a silhouette.
