Kaspersky Responds to the Future of Indonesian Cryptography After Issuance of Presidential Decree on Cyber ​​Security Strategy

JAKARTA - Recently, Indonesian President Joko Widodo issued Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 47 of 2023 concerning the National Cyber ​​Security Strategy and Cyber ​​Crisis Management.

The purpose of issuing this Presidential Decree is to protect the Indonesian people and national interests from misuse of cyber resources, anticipate cyber attacks, and also recover from cyber crisis situations that have occurred.

As a global cybersecurity company, Kaspersky responded that the issuance of the Presidential Decree which was promulgated on July 20, 2023 with 35 comprehensive articles marks a significant step in strengthening Indonesia's digital landscape.

According to Kaspersky, Presidential Decree Number 47 of 2023 reflects the government's emphasis on maintaining the country's cryptographic ecosystem and producing a clear and measurable action plan to secure cyberspace.

Because, the more crypto asset transactions grow in Indonesia, the higher the cybersecurity risk. In fact, Kaspersky solutions managed to thwart a total of 24,642 crypto phishing attempts targeting Indonesian users during 2022.
