JAKARTA - At the 74th Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards, YouTube TV from Google managed to bring home its first Technical Emmy Awards for the Views feature.

Views on YouTube TV usually accompanies sports programs, such as football and basketball matches. With this feature, you will get direct information into the spotlight such as key games, statistics, and scores from the games they watch and other games.

This display appears next to streaming content and can be a tool for viewers to get information about games that are ongoing or that you may miss.

"Thank you to the Academy for this recognition to Google. This is the first Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards YouTube TV, and we are very proud of our team's work in providing broadcasts for our members," said Kathryn Cochrane, Group Product Manager, YouTube TV on her blog.

Developed for five years, the Views feature was launched one year after Google launched YouTube TV in 2017.

"One great thing about working on YouTube TV is that we are also dedicated YouTube TV users, and when we explore ideas about how to make content easier for users to digest," he explained.

Looking back, Cochrane revealed the reason YouTube launched the Views feature. He said they wanted to create a TV live experience for the new generation that was easier, more personal, and the most important thing was more fun.

"Many of our viewers are big sports fans, and we found that when they watch sporting events, they don't just see what's on the big screen. They're also active on their phones, finding more details like their fantasy football league statistics, updates from other games, and more, all to perfect what they're already watching. That's where Views comes in," Cochrane added.

With this feature, the company said it wanted to provide the information their audience was looking for, live on TV, and only needed to press one button.

When it launched, Views was only available for baseball, basketball, football, and hockey, and was limited to cell phones and tablets. But now, you can find Views for football and golf. In addition, YouTube TV has also launched a Views variety, which is called the "Lumpat ke" segment, for tennis and even the Olympics.

Seeing the success of Views, YouTube revealed that it will soon launch the "Segment" feature for the News program. "This award is dedicated to more than 5 million of our members who have traveled with us," Cochrane concluded.
