Microsoft Founder Believes ChatGPT Is As Important As The Invention Of Internet

JAKARTA - The massive development of ChatGPT, which was launched last December, seems to have caught the attention of technology company executives around the world.

One of them is the founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates, who expressed his confidence in the future of OpenAI's chatbot, ChatGPT.

According to him, a chatbot that can provide responses similar to human responses to user requests is as important as the invention of the internet.

"Until now artificial intelligence could read and write, but could not understand the content," he told German business daily Handelsblatt in an interview published on Friday.

Furthermore, according to Gates, new programs like ChatGPT will make work easier and more efficient than now.

"New programs like ChatGPT will make many office jobs more efficient by helping to write invoices or letters. It will change our world," he said.

ChatGPT is a chatbot developed by the US company OpenAI and supported by Microsoft Corp., which can answer requests or questions from its users by utilizing artificial intelligence.

Based on what VOI has previously reported, ChatGPT is estimated to have reached 100 million monthly active users in January, or just two months after its launch.

According to a UBS study on Wednesday, February 1, this makes ChatGPT the fastest-growing consumer app in history.

Currently, many large technology companies are working to compete with ChatGPT, including Quora, Alibaba, and the search giant Google, which launched Bard as its chatbot.
