Japanese Artist Takashi Murakami Collaborates With Hublot To Launch NFT

JAKARTA - Japanese artist Takashi Murakami and Swiss watch company Hublot have jointly announced the launch of a collection of NFT-related watches. This artwork is the fourth artistic collaboration between the two sides, inspired by Japanese video games and TV shows from the 1970s.

The collection will debut at the Watches & Wonders 2023 trade show in Geneva, where it will feature 13 unique NFTs tied to physical watches. This NFT has an attractive rainbow color and features Takashi Murakami's very distinctive smiling flower symbol. However, only collectors who have purchased one of the 324 NFTs released jointly by Murakami and Hublot can own this collection.

With this launch, Murakami and Hublot look forward to expanding the scope and popularity of NFTs in the watch world. This collection will be one of the most anticipated and exclusive in the watch industry today.

The final watch in this collection is the Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami Black Ceramic Rainbow. The watch has a rotating floral dial and is studded with precious gems. Only collectors who have purchased one of the 324 NFTs released by Murakami and Hublot have the opportunity to purchase this watch.

Until April 2024, 12 NFTs from this collection can be resold on OpenSea. If a collector managed to own all 12 NFTs, they could buy a coveted watch. However, if not, Hublot will sell the watch via auction to raise money for charity.

Murakami is not new to NFTs. She has already launched the Murakami Flowers collection in March 2021 and collaborated with Nike's RTFKT digital devices and NFT Cryptokicks sneakers. This Murakami X Hublot watch collection could be a new kiss for the NFT and luxury watch lover community.
