Twitter Officially Launches Checkmarks in Different Colors, What Are They?

JAKARTA - For a long time, Elon Musk has been planning to launch checkmarks with different colors for each account with their own needs.

However, at that time Musk was still fixing the system first before rolling it out widely to all Twitter users.

The good news is, starting Tuesday, December 20, Twitter has finally officially launched verified checkmarks with a different color for each account.

Blue Checkmark

A blue tick can mean two different things: the account has been verified against Twitter's previous verification criteria (active, well-known, and genuine), or the account has a new Twitter Blue subscription from Twitter and meets certain requirements.

Gold Checkmark and Square Profile Picture

A gold tick and a square profile picture indicate that the account is an official business account via Twitter Blue for Business.

Gray Checkmark

A gray tick indicates that the account represents an agency, government official, or multilateral organization. Government institutions eligible for this tick are national and local crisis response accounts, public safety, law enforcement, and regulatory agencies, embassies, and other key national-level agencies.

While officials include heads of state, spokespersons for foreign officials, diplomatic leaders, cabinet members (national level). For multilateral organizations, the requirements include institutional accounts, high-ranking officials, and official spokespersons.
