JAKARTA - Snapchat continues to move forward to allow users to create their own virtual world within the application. Like last year, the company updated user profiles to include 3D Bitmoji avatars.

Previously, Bitmoji profile avatars were only available in 2D. These new Bitmoji 3D avatars offer over a thousand different combinations of facial expressions, poses, backgrounds and gestures.

According to Snapchat parent Snap as of 2021, more than 70 percent of Snapchat's 280 million daily active users have a Bitmoji avatar linked to their Snapchat account.

Keep in mind, Snapchat first launched 3D Bitmoji more than five years ago, primarily as a lens so users can place animated and 3D versions of their Bitmoji onto the world in augmented reality (AR).

Now, that technology is coming to avatars, so your profile might be even more expressive. Check out below how to get, create and edit your 3D Bitmoji avatar on Snapchat.

How To Get Bitmoji 3D Avatars

You can create a 3D Bitmoji avatar first, by changing the avatar style to Bitmoji Deluxe on My Profile. Then, you can customize your 3D Bitmoji by tapping on it or dragging your Profile card.

When creating your 3D Bitmoji, you will have the option to change clothes and update poses and backgrounds.

If you already have a Bitmoji and want to link it to Snapchat. To do so, click on the Profile icon at the top to open your Profile screen, Add a Bitmoji and then follow the on-screen instructions. You need a device running at least iOS 10 or Android 5.0.
