JAKARTA – WhatsApp, on Thursday, November 3, launched a feature called Communities globally. This feature allows you to organize various chat groups in a larger structure, as well as other features such as larger group video calls and polls in chats.

Reuters reported, this is an addition to a new feature launched by the messaging service owned by Meta Platforms.

The Community feature will bring together various chat groups under a larger umbrella where administrators can send alerts to thousands of communities and become a feature that can be used by workplaces or schools.

The app will now also allow group chats to have up to 1,024 users, much higher than the current limit of 256 participants.

WhatsApp's rivals, including Telegram and Discord, currently allow thousands of members in group chats.

Other feature releases include 32-person video calling and in-chat polls, a common tool in social media apps, including Facebook and Twitter.

This feature will be very useful for sharing a post or content in an instant. Even in Indonesia, which will soon enter the presidential election campaign period, this feature is certainly highly awaited.
