JAKARTA – Italian electrode maker De Nora and Green Energy Storage (GES) announced on Wednesday, October 5 that they have entered into a partnership to develop a prototype hydrogen battery.

The company said it would build a platform to test, develop and optimize the battery, which is still in the pre-industrial stage.

The partnership will focus on, among other things, making batteries more powerful, durable and environmentally friendly, as well as accelerating their pre-commercial validation. De Nora himself was newly registered and started trading on the Milan exchange on June 30. But in fact they are a company that will be 100 years old next year.

Founded in 1923, the group is a leading manufacturer of electrodes for devices such as rechargeable batteries and also manufactures systems for water filtration and wastewater treatment as well as components for generating green hydrogen.

In contrast, GES, an Italian SME, produces hydrogen batteries based on a gas-liquid hybrid technology platform.

They have been awarded 53 million euros by the European Union and the Italian government for research and development in the battery sector. This makes the two of them the right partner for making environmentally friendly electric battery innovations.
