JAKARTA - Entering October, the 2023 Indonesia Motorcycle Show (IMOS) will start in a matter of days. This event will be used by various two-wheeled vehicle manufacturers to showcase their newest models to the public.

However, the Indonesian Motorcycle Association (AISI) has a different view regarding this event. They believe that this event was held to help the government accelerate the electric vehicle ecosystem in the country.

"AISI supports the government's program towards accelerating the Battery-Based Electric Motor Vehicle (KBLBB) industry, presenting environmentally friendly technology such as electric-based motorbikes and various other technologies that encourage emission reduction, towards net zero emissions," said Sigit Kumala, Head of Commercial Affairs at AISI, in a statement received by VOI, Saturday, September 30.

IMOS 2023 will be the first time it will be held in an odd-numbered year and will be designated as an annual exhibition. This aims to accelerate the development of two-wheeled vehicles in Indonesia.

Apart from showing off the latest motorbikes with both fuel and electric engines, this event is used by AISI as a means of educational activities for visitors regarding safe and comfortable driving.

"Through the IMOS 2023 exhibition, AISI wants to show the performance of the two-wheeled automotive industry, along with the latest products and technology, as well as provide direct education to the public about the importance of safe riding in driving, throughout the exhibition," said Kumala.

For the first time since this event was held, IMOS 2023 will take place at the newest location, namely ICE BSD, Tangerang. According to AISI, the appointment of this location will provide convenience because it has a large and strategic location.

IMOS 2023 will be held on a location covering an area of 10,000 square meters, twice the size of the previous venue. With a larger area in a new location, AISI believes IMOS+ will be more lively with innovation from the participants and participation from the Indonesian motorbike lover community.

One of the biggest automotive events in Indonesia will be held from 25 to 29 October 2023. IMOS 2023 will be attended by 15 different manufacturers, including Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Royal Enfield, Scomadi, Charged EV, Savart EV, Gova, Polytron, Ion Mobility, U Winfly, Alva, Dhelvic, Kool EV, and Selis.
