Hyundai Collaborates With Lippo Malls To Present Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Throughout Indonesia

Jakarta - PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) continues to actively play a role in accelerating the growth of electric vehicles in Indonesia. They have just signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Lippo Malls Indonesia to present charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs). This partnership affirms the commitment of HMID, a company from South Korea, in supporting the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia.

The signing of the MoU took place at Hyundai Motorstudio Senayan Park and was attended by the President Director of PT HMID, Woojune Cha, CEO of PT Lippo Malls Indonesia, Henry Riadi, and Marketing Head of PT Lippo Malls Indonesia, Danny Crayton.

Woojune Cha stated that HMID will provide EV charging stations in 52 shopping centers under the auspices of Lippo Malls Indonesia. This will strengthen Hyundai's position as a pioneer in the transition to electric mobility in Indonesia.

"With the wider expansion of the EV Charging Station network, collaboration with PT Lippo Malls Indonesia is an important momentum for us to continue to advance the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia," Cha said in an official statement on Tuesday, September 5.

In this collaboration, Hyundai and Lippo Malls Indonesia will develop a network of EV charging stations in various Lippo Malls shopping centers throughout Indonesia, including cities such as Aceh, Medan, Palembang, Jambi, Yogyakarta, Pekalongan, Kudus, Kediri, Sidoarjo, Jember, Madiun, Palangkaraya, Kendari, Kupang, Manado, Makassar, and Bali.

Some of these locations will also offer EV charging stations of various types of chargers, ranging from the standard 22 kW to the DC 50 kW fast charger.

This collaboration makes PT Lippo Malls Indonesia the first Indonesian retail company to provide EV fast charging facilities for the wider community in national-scale shopping centers. It is important to note that the charging station is not only compatible with Hyundai vehicles, but can also be used for electric vehicles from other brands.

With this step, HMID has formed a wider electric vehicle ecosystem throughout Indonesia. Hyundai has built more than 200 charging stations across the country, covering various types of charging, ranging from AC types, DC types, to Ultra Fast Charging.
