JAKARTA - Nissan Indonesia recently announced the recall of six car models.

The recall was caused by a safety system in several models, namely airbag inflators, potentially injuring the driver.

"We inform you again regarding the airbag inflator examination. To maintain the level of safety in driving, immediately replace the Airbag Inflator," wrote Nissan Indonesia on its official Instagram account on Wednesday, May 3.

As reported by the upload, component replacement is very important for the car when involved in an accident to prevent metal debris from falling when the airbag expands. If it is not handled immediately, it will result in injury to the driver.

The cars affected by the recall were Nissan Sentra (April 2002 - September 2022), X-Trail (2002 - 2008), Livina/GL/X-Gear (April 2007 - November 2013), Latio (November 2004 - October 2006), Navara (January 2007 - December 2014), Frontier (2009 - 2010), and Livina/GL (May 2013 - October 2017).

Nissan has also conveyed to car owners that allegedly affected can immediately confirm it through the website of the company Umbinan.co.id/owners/recall.

Car owners can also contact Nissan Care Online Assistance via Nicole 1500023 to confirm further to do booking service.

It did not say how much was withdrawn. However, the problem caused by airbag inflators is not the first time this has happened. Previously, the airbag inflator created by Takata had problems of up to millions of cars from various brands had to be withdrawn worldwide.
