JAKARTA - Wahana Musik Indonesia (WAMI), one of the Collective Management Institutions (LMK) tasked with collecting and distributing music royalties, reported that it managed to collect royalties of IDR 161,253,244,044 throughout 2024.

The amount of royalties collected includes various sectors, ranging from digital to music performances.

This achievement was conveyed by Adi Adrian, the keyboardist of the KLa Project who served as the President Director of WAMI, at a press conference in Pancoran, South Jakarta on Wednesday, December 18.

"In 2024, thank God, WAMI can manage up to approximately Rp161 billion in total. This is not small money, yes," said Adi.

Despite the increase from previous years, WAMI felt that it was not optimal in its duties, because there were still some parties who had not paid royalties.

"Is this ideal? Not yet. But this Rp161 billion is something big enough. We are proud to say that we have managed Rp161 billion," he said.

The digital sector is the largest contributor, with a total of hundreds of billions. Meanwhile, royalties for performing rights from live events (music concerts) are at IDR 12 billion.

"The concert is around Rp. 12 billion, yes, it's quite Rp. 12 billion. From the digital sector it's indeed large, hundreds of billions," said Adi.

With the large money that has been collected, said Adi, his party is still obliged to distribute it to the creators. So far, Rp118 billion has been given to those who are entitled.

"So, it's not an easy task. We manage and distribute," he concluded.
