Intertick's Invitation To Fight Bullying Through The Song 'Take Me Higher'

JAKARTA - Rock band from Bogor, Antartick released the video clip 'Take Me Higher', one of the songs from the first album released in 2020, The Lone White Wolf.

Through the release of the Take Me Higher video clip, Intertick wants to voice not to be afraid of acts and bullying.

Through firm lyrics, Take Me Higher is the opening album which is full of sparks of enthusiasm and courage.

Meanwhile, what is contained in the lyrics of the song is inspired by the real events that have been experienced by one of the Intertick personnel, Anang (guitar).

"This song is an outburst of emotion over all the bullying behaviors I experienced while I was still in school, both verbally and physically," said Anang in his statement, Saturday, October 28.

According to Anang, bullying behavior has a dangerous impact, both in a social and psychological context.

In a social context, victims of bullying feel isolated and difficult to socialize, while bullying perpetrators also experience problems in building empathy and relationships with others.

Meanwhile, on the psychological side, many victims of depression end up committing suicide. Meanwhile, bullying is very risky to engage in criminal behavior.

"Seriously! This (bullying) is very dangerous. Luckily at that time there was openness to communication and support from parents and close friends. If not, maybe I wouldn't survive. There have been many tragic endings of bullying behavior like this," said Anang.

Then, according to Helvi (bass), bullying does not only occur directly, but also occurs on social media. This phenomenon is increasingly troubling.

People often use anonymity to insult, demean, and intimidate others with harsh words, images, or destructive messages. Bullying on social media can be very detrimental, as it can cause stress, depression, and even have a long-term effect on the victim's mental well-being," said Helvi.

Through this song, Joean Lasta (vocals) said that Intertick wants to voice to everyone who feels they are victims of bullying, that you are not alone.
