JAKARTA - Not long after separating from Gerald Liu, Weird Genius decided to find new personnel to fill the disc jockey (DJ) position.

Meanwhile, Roy Leonard Soewarno alias Roy CDC is the new member who is now filling the DJ position at Weird Genius.

Roy CDC officially became a Weird Genius personnel, confirmed through Reza Arap's upload on his official Instagram account.

This weekend, Weird Genius' performance at the Scream or Dance will be Reza Arap and Eka Gustiwana's first stage playing alongside Roy CDC.

"Welcome to this family, Roy. See you on our first stage, Scream or Dance," wrote Reza Arap, quoted Friday, October 27.

For information, Roy CDC is the older brother of rapper Rich Brian who is now working in the United States, under the auspices of 88rising.

Roy has also released several works as a solo artist, such as Rendang (2017) and Painful (2019).

Earlier, when announcing Gerald Liu's resignation, Weird Genius confirmed that they would continue to evolve as a group.

Based on Weird Genius' experience, which has been working since 2016, being left by his personnel is nothing new.

In 2019, Reza Arap and Eka Gustiwana separated from Billy Taner, and were replaced by Gerald Liu.

Weird Genius sees togetherness with Gerald Liu as his own color for the group. His contribution as a member is never in doubt.

The last four years have been a historic year for us. Channel some of the best works and color the stage after stage that we had never thought of before," wrote Weird Genius.

"Of course, our journey cannot be separated from Gerald's contribution, as one of Weird Genius's members. We are grateful for Gerald's dedication and contribution to Weird Genius. Every trip has its own twists and challenges, we agreed to start a new stage," he concluded.
