JAKARTA - Babymetal's new member, Momometal - AKA Momoko Okazaki - expressed his extraordinary anxiety when officially announced as the newest member of Japan's cawai-metal superstar band.

In a new exclusive interview with Metal Hammer, the singer explained that, despite having appeared as one of the Babymetal background dancers for years, his official confirmation as a full-time member of the core band at the Yokohama Arena Cup on April 1 worried him.

"I am very worried whether or not I will be accepted," he explained, quoted from Metal hazard, Monday.

"A lot of thought crossed my head, and I know that to try and suddenly be accepted throughout Babymetal's long history will be very difficult," he continued.

"To be honest I'm not at all confident at all, and can't really believe that 'I'm going to be an official member until the announcement arrives. I remember I was so nervous that I shook a little."

He added Momometal to the group means Babymetal is now a trio again after Yuimmetal's departure three years ago. It's no surprise considering that he has been part of the Babymetal family for four years, Momometal's 'increase' received an enthusiastic response from those present at Yokohama that night.

"When this was announced, I was really surprised that the fans cheered and shouted joy," he told Metal Hammer.

"And I don't just feel relieved, but it's also as if our fans feel relieved, and for me, it feels like they've been waiting for this moment for a long time."

"Hearing the joy of the fans helped me gain confidence and I feel very proud to be named Momometal," he added.

"Since that day, things have become very interesting for me."

Meanwhile, Babymetal's latest studio album, The Other One, has been released.
