JAKARTA - Indonesian music observer from Irama Nusantara, David Tarigan, said that digitizing music will make it easier for music artists, especially local musicians, to introduce their work.

"This music digitization will make it easier for music artists, especially local musicians, to introduce their work, without having to go to the capital or major studios," said David at the "Masik Digitization at the 2023 Media Art Community Festival (FKSM)" at the NTB Cultural Park, Mataram, Wednesday (6/9) night.

Quoting Antara, he also stated that the educational program related to the digitization of music is a lesson for musicians to music lovers to be optimistic that local musicians will be able to present their work to the wider audience.

Digitalization, said David, allows equality in the distribution of music. However, it is still a challenge for traditional music, especially those using traditional musical instruments.

David also mentioned the lack of insight into digital music that traditional musicians have. Many cases, from ignorance, musicians lose their source of income.

That knowledge should not always be possessed by the musician, but, the environment or community can help. If there is no community that can help, according to David, it is the local government that he considers to be responsible.

The Media Art Community Festival is held to provide education to visitors, especially music artists.

One of the 2023 FKSM Curators, Jeong Ok Jeun, said that in addition to exhibitions and art performances, the event will also be filled with educational programs such as artist talks, art discussions, gallery tours, and talk shows.

"In addition to introducing art to visitors, we have also opened an educational program for them," said Jeong Ok Jeun.

He also hopes that the educational program will be able to open the visitors' horizon about media art because the majority of visitors there are mostly students.
