How Asian Kungfu Generation Brings Fans' Memories To The 2000s Era

JAKARTA - An alternative rock band from the Asian Kungfu Generation held its first concert in Indonesia, with 19 songs in front of fans who attended the Gelora Bung Karno Senayan Tennis Indoor Arena, Friday night.

The band consisting of vocalist Masafumi Gotoh, guitarist Kensuke Kita, Takahiro Yamada base, and drummer Kiyoshi Ijichi for the first time set foot in Indonesia, as their only tour agenda in Southeast Asia by KIG Live.

"Thank you. We are Asia Kungfu Generation. We are very happy to be able to come to Indonesia. It turns out that there are many of our fans (here)," said Gotoh when greeting the audience, quoted by Antara.

The group, which is popularly called Ajikan, appeared for two hours from 20.00 WIB to 22.00 WIB.

When he entered the stage, the presence of Gotoh and his colleagues suddenly drew cheers from the audience. The three personnel, except Gotoh, were wearing a white base-colored shirt with various patterns such as flowers or abstract patterns.

Meanwhile, the vocalist was present wearing a red shirt with a floral motif that was not too flashy.

"Today we had a shopping opportunity, we bought this outfit," said Gotoh briefly on the sidelines of his appearance.

In his appearance, the group that was formed in Yokohama in 1996 also sang a number of the most hit songs in the 2000s era.

For example, such as Kimi to Iu Hana, Rewrite, to Haruka Kanata, a song that makes them widely known around the world for being the soundtrack for the most famous Japanese animated series "Naruto".

The song was performed towards the end of their appearance, which was greeted with very high enthusiasm from the audience, which was dominated by the age range of 20 to 30.

"Hopefully in the near future we can return to Jakarta. We are very grateful. This time, you will know the best song," said Gotoh shortly before singing Haruka Kanata.

The concert became the second event to be held from KIG Live, after previously bringing in a solo singer from South Korea Crush.

At the Asian Kungfu Generation concert, the committee not only provided maximum service. But it also provides a variety of food stands, photo booths, to the sale of souvenirs from the band.
