Melly Goeslaw Admits She Doesn't Have A Special Formula To Make Hits Songs

JAKARTA - Known as a legendary Indonesian musician with hits, Melly Goeslaw admits that he does not have a special formula every time he is asked to create a song.

Actually, there is no special secret for that. If I compose a song, just make it," said Melly, quoted from Antara, Thursday.

Deeper, Melly revealed that every music composer does have their own characteristics attached to him. However, Melly admits that she doesn't have a special formula when creating a song. He just always tries to make the song he needs.

Recently, Melly also created a song for two young musicians, namely Shanna Shannon and Stevan Pasaribu.

Even when creating this song, Melly admitted that she was inspired by her two grown children.

"I was indeed one of the composers who when I composed the song, the first thing to think about was the lyrics. Then I happened to have two children, they had a second account. So they used that account to peek around when they broke up with their girlfriend. From there I thought it was funny too if it became a song, "explained Melly.

Therefore, Melly continues to explore her mindset until the words of the younger generation today or what is commonly called Gen Z. Because according to her, it is one of the keys to still being able to work to this day.

By understanding the mindset and language of today's young people, the songs they create are expected to be more acceptable and relate to them.

"Because I want to make songs at any time, so I have to follow the mindset of children now, what happens, the way they express words," explained Melly.

"For example, now there are words Ghosting. There used to be none. So I have to update those languages. Kosakata and others must continue to learn from children now so that they can continue to work even in different times," he continued.
