Indra Qadarsih: Current Music Industry Like The Royal Age

JAKARTA Kibordis BIP, Indra Qadarsih, said that the current music industry is like the royal era where musicians are only entertainers. He said this in an interview session on the Yongkeys Show YouTube channel some time ago.

"Now it's like going back to the royal age. So during the work era, musicians are just entertainers," he said.

"Well, when it was time for physical releases such as CDs, cassettes, the term was music as the content, right. Well, because things like that were no longer there, in the end, such a based industry was destroyed. Because now there is a digital music like Spotify, so I think that's just a portfolio, "he continued.

In fact, the former Slank keyboardist added that his musical views in ancient times were no longer usable at this time.

"And now the music is too attached to products or brands. So the times are different, whether it's evolving or decreasing, right. Obviously, our previous mindset can't be used," he explained.

"Like wanting to make millions of copies, that's no longer possible. So, the mindset is back now, just entertain," he added.

Therefore, Indra Q advises musicians at this time not to eliminate their idealistic side.

"That's why we don't lose our ideals, instead our selling points are idealized," he concluded.
