A total of four people died in an accident between a bus and a truck at the Kilometer (KM) 77+200 Pandaan-Malang Toll Road, East Java.

Malang Police Chief AKBP Putu Kholis Aryana said one of the four victims who died in the accident was a bus driver.

"At the beginning of the treatment, we found that one victim died, but after we evacuated together with the entire team, a total of four died, (one of them) was a bus driver," Putu said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, December 23.

Then, the other three victims who died were bus crews and two were passengers.

The four dead victims were taken to Dr Saiful Anwar Regional General Hospital (RSUD), Malang City.

"For the survivors, they were rushed to the Lawang and Lawang Medica Hospitals," he said.

Putu said that based on the passenger manifest, the bus numbered S 7607 UW carried a group from IT Darul Qur'an Mulia Putri Middle School, Bogor, West Java.

"What is certain is that the students are 40 people from the manifest data of the Bogor Police Chief, then we are still investigating the crew, assistants, and drivers of the total number of passengers," he said.

In addition, based on provisional information from the local police, the bus that had an accident on the Pandaan-Malang Toll Road is planned to go to England Village, in Kediri Regency after previously traveling from the Mount Bromo tourist area.

"Whether there are any points visited in East Java or how there is still no information because (passengers) are still psychologically traumatized and we have not been able to dig up information," he said.

Monitoring at the location, police officers and PT Jasamarga Pandaan-Malang were still at the scene to conduct an investigation into this accident.
