JAKARTA - The technology giant Huawei released an electric car that is included in the Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) segment called Aito M9, which is claimed to be able to compete with various well-known manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz.

This SUV model was born as a result of a collaboration between Huawei and Seres, which is an electric car manufacturer from China under the auspices of the Sink Group, quoted from the ArenaEV page, Friday, October 20.

Both carry out different tasks, where Huawei only complements embedded electric motorcycles, chips to various sensors. Meanwhile, Seres takes steps as a maker or manufacturer.

The results of this collaboration gave birth to two types of Aito M9, namely the battery electric vehicle (BEV) variant, which has two e-motors that produce 530 dk of power. On the other hand, the EREV version (range excess) produces 496 dk of power and is equipped with an internal combustion engine of 1.5 liters which functions as a generator.

For details, the electric car has a length dimension of 5,230 mm, a width of 1,999 mm, a height of 1,800 mm and a wheelbase of 3,110 mm. Its dimensions outperform competitors, such as the Mercedes-Benz EQE and BMW iX SUVs.

Both are targeting an incredible amount of production with 700,000 vehicles annually, an ambitious target for a new car. The factory itself is located in Chongqing, China.

As is known, Aito himself already has two cars in the same segment, and for the results of this collaboration, it is rumored that it will be present in December 2023.

Questioning the price, Aito M9 is priced at around 500,000 to 600,000 domestic customers or around Rp. 1.02 billion to Rp. 1.2 billion depending on the model.
