Tested Driving 767 Times, Chery Omoda 5 Is "Most Driver Car" At GIIAS 2023

Berkat sambutan positif yang diterima oleh Chery dalam pameran Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2023, salah satu model mereka, yakni Omoda 5, dinyatakan sebagai "Favorite Car: Most Driver Car".

This award was not given without reason, Chery Omoda 5 became the most tested car (test drive) 767 times during GIIAS 2023.

President of PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) and Vice President of Chery International, Shawn Xu, stated that the Indonesian people enthusiastically welcomed Chery Omoda 5 thanks to its sophisticated design and leading technology presented in this SUV.

"We are very proud that Chery OMODA 5 gets the award as the most tried vehicle by GIIAS 2023 visitors. This is strong evidence of Chery's reputation and popularity in the eyes of Indonesian consumers," Shawn said in a statement on Sunday, August 20.

Introduced since March 2023, Omoda 5 has made a major contribution to the sale of the Chery brand. As of July, Chery Omoda 5 has sold more than 1,600 units across Indonesia.

For the export market, Omoda 5 experienced an increase in sales by 10.73 percent compared to the previous month, reaching 15,735 units, with total cumulative exports from January to July reaching 86,556 units.

Omoda 5 has a length dimension of 4,400 mm, a width of 1,830 mm, a height of 1,585 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,630 mm.

Chery Omoda 5 is available in two engine options. The first is the 1.600 cc TGDI engine with a power of 194 dk and 290 Nm torque. While the second variant is the 1,500 cc TCI engine with 155 dk of power and 230 Nm of torque.

In Indonesia, Chery presents two variants of Omoda 5, namely Omoda 5 Z at a price of around Rp. 329 million and Omoda 5 RZ which sells for Rp. 399 million.

Recently, Omoda 5 also proved its commitment to safety by winning a five-star rating from the Australation New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) in the Oceania region.

ANCAP is a strict and independent driving safety evaluation institution. They carried out various evaluation tests to measure vehicle safety performance, and Chery Omoda 5 performed very impressively.

In addition to Omoda 5, the popularity of the Chery brand in Indonesia is also driven by two other models, namely the Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro, which marks the return of this Chinese brand to the country's market.
